Not everyone who identifies as a Christian will be raptured. The Bible makes it clear that the rapture is meant for genuine believers who are living in obedience to Christ and are prepared for His return.
Jesus Himself cautioned us:
Matthew 7:21 – “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.”
Matthew 25:1–13 (Parable of the Ten Virgins) – Only the wise virgins who were ready went in with the bridegroom; the foolish ones were left outside.
1 Thessalonians 4:16–17 – Paul tells us that those “in Christ” will be gathered up together with the Lord.
What this means is:
Those who truly believe in Jesus, embrace repentance, and strive to live holy lives will be raptured.
On the other hand, those who are lukewarm, indifferent, or living in sin might find themselves left behind, even if they attend church or label themselves as Christians.
👉 In summary: The rapture is for the faithful, vigilant, and obedient believers who are prepared when Jesus returns.
