Timelines of events after rapture

📖 Timeline of Events After the Rapture

  1. The Rapture of the Church

1 Thessalonians 4:16–17 – Believers are caught up to meet Christ in the air.

1 Corinthians 15:51–52 – In a moment, the dead in Christ are raised, and living believers are transformed.

👉 The true Church (all saved believers) is taken. The world is left in shock and confusion.

  1. Rise of the Antichrist

2 Thessalonians 2:3–4 – The “man of lawlessness” (Antichrist) is revealed.

Daniel 9:27 – He makes a covenant for 7 years, marking the beginning of the tribulation.

👉 He brings temporary peace, likely explaining away the rapture and uniting nations.

  1. The Seven-Year Tribulation

This period is divided into two halves (3.5 years each).

First Half (3.5 years)

Matthew 24:4–8 – “Beginning of sorrows”: wars, famines, earthquakes.

Revelation 6 – The first seals are opened: conquest, war, famine, death.

Revelation 11:3 – Two witnesses preach in Jerusalem.

👉 Many left behind come to faith, but persecution rises.

Middle of the Tribulation

Daniel 9:27 – The Antichrist breaks his covenant.

Matthew 24:15 – The “abomination of desolation” (Antichrist defiles the temple).

Revelation 13 – He demands worship, enforces the mark of the beast (without it no one can buy or sell).

👉 This is the turning point — the world enters great suffering.

Second Half (3.5 years) – The Great Tribulation

Matthew 24:21–22 – “Great tribulation, such as has not been from the beginning of the world.”

Revelation 16 – God’s final judgments (bowls of wrath).

Revelation 7:9, 13–14 – A multitude of believers come out of the tribulation (many through martyrdom).

👉 Intense persecution of believers + escalating judgments of God.

  1. The Second Coming of Christ

Revelation 19:11–16 – Christ returns with the armies of heaven.

Matthew 24:30 – “They will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds with power and great glory.”

👉 Jesus defeats the Antichrist and his armies (Battle of Armageddon).

  1. The Millennium (1000-Year Reign)

Revelation 20:1–6 – Satan is bound, Christ reigns on earth for 1,000 years.

👉 A time of peace and justice under Christ’s rule.

  1. Final Judgment & Eternity

Revelation 20:11–15 – Great White Throne Judgment of the unsaved.

Revelation 21–22 – New Heaven and New Earth; eternal life with God for believers.

✅ Summary:
